History of the Warren aquarium

Added about 10 ghost shrimp to help keep the algae under control. Also changed 10% of the water with distilled water in hopes of getting the pH down a little from 7.6.

Plants are looking very happy (considering the time they have been planted). The Red Crypt (C421) unforled a few leaves already. So did the mystery plant behind Broadleaf Amazon (E100).

But the Java Fern that was moved to the croock of the log has developed significant black spots. It doesn't look happy. So I moved it to a spot that is main output stream and is much closer to the surface (and thus the light). We're not sure if it was damaged in the new location next to the log or if we over-handled it last night during the move.

Added some more starter fish to the tank:

5
Zebra Danios. These are fast little fish that school pretty tight.
2 white bloodfin tetras
1 blackskirt tetra

One of the live bearers had babies but I'm not sure which. One fry was spotted swimming along the back. We found 3 fry in the old tank too.

We decided to also buy a decorative wood piece. I decided to not get natural wood as I don't like the color change in the water and they are rediculously expensive. Petmart had a nice one that I bought.

i visited Gallery of Pets today with the family. It is a nice store. I bought a few good starter fish and the owner also gave me a nice strip of moss. They are very generous.

I tied the moss to the plastic log and put it in the tank. I also aclimated the fish and then added to them to the tank.

I did a 25% change of water tonight. Next time I need to remember to make the water a little warmer when I do the change. I think the temp dropped to about 70 F.
